• Intern Celebration @ Pacific Science Center

  

  This was the event of the summer: Microsoft takes over the Pacific Science Center for the Intern Summer Celebration.  Not only did we get a pre-release IMAX screening of Harry Potter 6, but we also all got XBox 360s.  Excessive?  Probably. :)

  Bite of Seattle is an event held downtown every summer, where lots of local restaurants take over the Seattle Center and offer up overpriced, delicious food!

• Mt. Rainier Hike

  

  Microsoft had a weekend event at Mt. Rainier!  We started at a point on the mountain called Paradise, and we hiked up to Panorama Point.  It was an excellent afternoon!

• Sailing and a BBQ

  

  The University of Michigan recruiters at Microsoft took all of us out for an afternoon sail on Puget Sound.  Afterwards, they threw us a BBQ!  It was a good day. :)

• Intern Day of Caring: Serenity Equine Rescue

  

  Microsoft has a huge community support program for its employees.  On the 10th of July, most of the interns split up into different groups and each went to various Seattle areas to do our part.  My group went to Serenity Equine Rescue, a rehabilitation center for rescued large animals, primarily horses.

• Gas Works Park 4th of July

  

  There's always a huge 4th of July celebration in Gas Works park.  What better way to spend a day than by camping out for hours in a crowded park, waiting for half an hour of fireworks? :)

• Point Defiance

  

  July 3rd was a paid holiday, so I went with a few other friends to Point Defiance, in Tacoma, WA for the day.  We saw the Point Defiance Zoo/Aquarium, as well as a lot of the park as well.

  On Monday, we had a team morale event for all the IE developers at the local Whirleyball establishment!  Almost as fun as a day at the office, right? :)

• Fremont Fair & Snoqualmie Falls

  

  Fremont, WA is a crazy little suburb of Seattle that has a summer solstice parade each summer.  The main attraction of the fair is the parade, and mainly the naked bikers (complete with body paint).  Bizarre.  After the fair, we went over to Snoqualmie Falls, to help get these horrible nude-biker images out of our heads.  It didn't really work...
  
  Disclaimer: If a photo in this album contains a bike, odds are it contains at least partial nudity as well.  You've been warned.  NSFW, etc, etc...

• Lake 22 Hike

  

  Another weekend hike, this time to Snoqualmie National Forest's Lake 22, near Mt. Pilchuck.  It was a far nicer hike, and also slightly easier.  And there was snow! :)

  ~1500 ft. elevation gain (1000 -> 2500)

• Tiger Mountain Hike

  

  One of the (many) intern-organized weekend activities this weekend was to go hiking at Seattle's Tiger Mountain.  It was fun, but exhausting.

• Microsoft Interview

  

  I had an interview for a summer internship with Microsoft in Seattle, WA on January 30th.  When I got there, I found out there was a no-photos policy on campus.  Despite wanting to take photos, I've still received the internship; let's hope that the photography policy for hired interns is a bit more lenient.
